Christmas Revisited

The so-called Christmas "spirit" is alive and kicking. The lights are out in display. People are emptying the ATMs in the malls. I must warn many people that the true Christmas "spirit" has been diluted.

I have seen promotional ads mentioning that Christmas is more than gifts, and those activities associated with it, but we must realize why we celebrate Christmas. It's not about Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman or the fictional reindeer named Rudolph. Logically, characters are cultural biased because these characters cannot possibly exist in our Asian cultural setting.

The important point that I must stress is that they intentionally take away the spotlight from the person who is supposed to be honored and that is Jesus Christ, the savior of the world. Have you ever asked yourself if Jesus has become a savior in your life? To anyone who is reading this, I tell you that He can be the savior of your own life. You might be asking, "Can he be a savior for my needs and desires?". He can be more than the savior for your needs, but also in your total being. I hope that renews your perspective during the Christmas season.
